Programs

MGDU has established several programs to aid in the achievement of our mission and commitment to members.
Our Veterinary Assistance Program benefits members through payment up to $500 Tour the veterinary expenses of a guide dog during its lifetime serving a handler. On a case by case basis, MGDU will also help a member in acquiring a replacement harness.
Among other programs, MGDU has five standing committees: Legislative and advocacy, Fundraising, Membership, Publications, and outreach. These committees are chaired by board members and directors, and are open to all members to join.
MGDU maintains a commitment to provide education information support and advocacy on behalf of its member guide dog handlers. MGDU has a speaker bureau that will do presentations to school classes, church groups, and civic organizations to raise awareness regarding the life and lifestyle of guide dog handlers and their partners.
